what should i run?

hay guys, i've never taken my car to the track, but what do you think i'm running :confused: , i have what's on my signature, i've done the spring cleaning thing, the timming belt was changed to a steel one, I just changed my spark plug wire's the ones i had on were :eek: , i put moroso's 8mm blue wire ( i don't know if they'll help with performance? but they sure do look good :D )and i have no cat, it's a stright pipe to the mufflers. I think maybe mid to low 13's? I HAVE NO IDEA :confused: , and one last thing i'm not sure what type of chip i had installed, I've learned that the place where i took to get these goodies installed, has in the past substituded( is that right?) parts. I had the car checked and do know i do have 009's and everything else but the chip? I read that turbotweak is the place to call for a chip? or is there better? I appreciate the feed-back ;)

high 12's with a good chip from Eric marshall, sticky tires. Removed front sway bar. Do you have a Adj Fuel pressure regulator? What about Adjustable wastegate? Will you run race gas or pump gas? Talk to me goose lol :tongue:

thanks for the reply bescurred, yes i do have an adj-fuel-pressure regulator, i will run race gas and no-no adj-wastegate, Eric Marshall ( I take it thats the eric from turbotweak ? :redface: ) I can get my hands on some slicks, high 12's would be nice :D , I see your about to break into the 11's :D must be nice. Glad you ditched the timing belt, that would have caused problems right there.

Mid 14's, I'd bet on it.

IF your running ras gas you need to be able to turn up the boost and you need a ScanMaster to watch your 02's...mid 14s? what the heck is that dude smoking? My car is pretty much the same plus a 3" THDP,scan tool and a powerplate. Mid 12's with a good launch, boost turned up, and you can monitor your 02's if its not to hot of a day.

mid 14"s, i hope not, i would become the invisible driver :D , it would be horrible a gn running 14"s, why i'd get kicked out of every buick club there is, id be known as the guy who ran 14"s aaaagggghhhh :eek: :eek: :eek: j/k

good advice :) i'll keep that in mind (scanmaster) how high should i take the boost up to? 20lbs or 22lbs ?

Are you running a stock turbo? Stock IC? Stock chip? If you don't have a Scanmaster don't do anything until you do. You have to be able to monitor O2 numbers and timing retard ( knock ). If you have a non adjustable wastegate actuator you won't be able to increase boost. If you can adjust boost, on a stock turbo 20-21psi is about as productive as it will get.
 
If you get a SM which you HAVE to have...ask your buddy to borrow it, When I last ran with the stock turbo and intercooler I ran 22PSI...however you MUST have a scanmaster. Also yes that chip is from Turbotweaked.

Hey Carlos, maybe Freddy can hook you up with the in car boost controller, he put one in my car & he has one in his car. It's nice to be able to adjust the boost on the fly. And so much easier than burning your fingers on that hot @#%$ rod. What I don't know is if you have to have an adjustable wastegate rod for it to work.

you have never raced the car and ya think ya just jump in an go 12s :rolleyes: .. Ill say high 13s to low 14s.. :eek:
 
i've raced before, i just have'nt race'd this gn, but i see your point you gatta test and tune ;)

Anyway, these cars don't have timing belts. I was being sarcastic.
