Thats my first question.
And is the cam sensor hard to get too. Where is, what does it look like. My car has been acting funny and people have been telling me to check the cam sensor, to make sure some ring isnt broken. does this sound right?

oil pressure on a stocker can be as low as 5 psi....I think the factory low oil pressure switch is set at 3 psi. Ofcourse its always more comfy in your brain if you see it at 15 at idle.

The cam sensor is alittle hard to get to, takes a 1/4 drive swivel socket to get at the hold down easier. If the car runs, its probably not the cam sensor. You could take the cap off, (two phillips head screws) and check to see if the "bowl" is loose, this would not change the sensor setting or alignment. You can also unplug the cam sensor while its running, it wil stay running you just can t turn it off and restart. If the problem goes away when you unplug it you may be on the right track.

You may need a guru if you conclude the cam sensor is the problem, its a small procedure to go through to reset a cam sensor from the beggining.

Cam sensor is at the front driver side of the motor, its just beside and below the altenator. Its has a black plastic round cap about the size of a half dollar coin. You'll see the 2 screws at 180 apart from each other as mentioned above. Cam sensor is used at start up to detemrine position of cam in relation to position of crank to know when to fire to spark. As mentioned above, it can be disconnected once car is running but it wilnot restart.
If you remove the 2 screws, the cap will pop off and you should see a round cup like thing with a "window" cut out in one place on it, thats how the sensor inside the plastic cap knows what the cam position is at. Check the cup thing eith the window cut in it to make sure its not loose.. Setting the cam procedure is outline on the gnttype.org website.
Oh yea, DO NOT loosen the hold down bolt unless you plan on having to "reset" it. You can remove the plastic top cap without having to reset it though.
