What size is my Turbo!?? Pics. Anyone? check it out

Check out my 2 pictures here of the stock turbo on the left i think, and the "bigger" one on the right. Can anyone tell me what size it is? the exhaust turbine and the impeller are MUCH BIGGER, even if they dont look that much bigger. also has a different pitch on the impeller, and the turbine side, has less of a pitch, more straight fins. tell me what you think.

Both look to be small shaft so that would make them 62's or smaller.

yea, the one on the left i believe is the stocker. the one on the right, is the bigger one. the exhaust side is much larger, and so is the impeller. impeller has a much different pitch on it as well.

Anyone have any opinions? its not a 62 i dont think based on GNTTYPE.ORGs pictures of a 62. maybe a 49, 60, or 61. what is it?

Well it has 11 exhaust blades. It doesn't look like my 61. I say 49.

Larger Turbo

I am not much help as I don't know what type of Turbo that is, but before installing it onto the car you should have it rebuilt.

It looks like someone got a bit hungry, and took a few bites out of the wheel. This lack of material will throw off the balence of the turbo, and in the long run it will lead to the failure of your bearings causing an oil leak.



You might have already been planning on rebuilding it, but I figured I would just toss in an idea.
