What size is the through bolt for the calipers?

I was checking the wear on my front disc brake pads and noticed that the caliper through bolts are allen head and not regular type head bolts. Does anyone know the exact size allen head wrench I need to get to loosen the bolts for the calipers? The largest I had was an 8mm which was way too small. Information on the exact size will save me a few trips to the parts store guessing which size allen head I need to get.
