We get them around here in the summer alot, especially when it's very hot. They mostly come out at night though, don't see them too often in the day.

Holy crap!!! Now I can't sleep. That freekin thing is hideous. And people are worried about global warming. That thing looks like Bin Laden with wings. What the heck happens when you run into those things at night. I can just imagine a flying Bin Ladin face squooshed on my windshield out in the middle of nowhere. Talk about the heeby jeebies. A full size Bin Laden without wings doesn't scare me-I'd enjoy squishing him. But the miniature with wings is way to creepy. I may have to move further inland.
