Well I bought a wrecked 87 Turbo T today and now I am going to put the drivetrain in my GN with an 84 motor. So what all do I have to change? I am going to change the computer and chip, but does any wiring inside the car, under the dash need to be changed. Is all that I have to change is the underhood wiring. Are the fuel pumps the same for the 84 and the 87. TIA

This is just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions...

I would swap complete engine, wiring harness, ecm, chip, radiator, and transmission, that is if the 87 T is that complete. :)

Yeah its a complete turbo t

Is the wiring under the dash inside the car different between the two years. If not then I wont have to change it, right? How about the fuel pumps, are they different?

The wiring under the dash is the same as well as the fuel pump. Things you will have to have is the 87 engine wiring harness, MAF, and ECM. Everything is a plug in.

to add to the change list...

heater core and throttle cable

if you want it 100% change the drivers side fenderwell so the power steering resevoir will have both lugs to screw down on.
