Are you all running in the 200r4? I have a cork type and its leaking ridiculously.......
Steve

Cork type filter? Que? You mean gasket maybe?

verify the sealing surfaces are clean and flat and use a durapreme gasket without anything applied to it torqued to 169 to 180 " lbs and its done

aka 11-13 ft pounds (for those of us who still work in ft lbs!) :)

I actually started them at 9-10, cross tightening as much as possible, then went back with it set at 12...

Those gaskets try like the dickens to wriggle out, even with all the bolts...
no gasket sealer or maker applied...

Of course I'm still in the middle of my "deep spring cleaning" and haven't filled it yet... so who knows!

i just bought a gm filter and gasket, cost 3 times as much but worth it...gasket is the reusable type....cost around 45.00 dollars compared to like 13.00 dollars for aftermarket..

Do you have the p/n to the reusable gasket? Every GM kit I've bought has come with the black non-cork gasket, but I wouldn't call it 100% reusable.

I found that CARQUEST's house brand filter kits for my 700R4 are actually the exact same SPX-Filtran filter as the OEM GM units I got from the dealer. The gasket included in the box is a very flexible grey/blue type. The difference is at Carquest it was about half the price of GM!!!
