i was wondering if my fan was installed backwards, because its blowing out of the grill of my car..so its sucking air from the engine bay and blowing it through the radiator..wouldn't that not work because the engine bay air is so hot its blowing hot air into the radiator??

It's either install backwards or wired backwards. It's suppose to draw air through the grill. Once moving you may have little or no air moving through the radiator since the fan is pushing air toward the grill and the air is trying to move into the engine compartment.

this is an aftermarket fan that the guy before me installed, is it just a general rule of thumb that the fan is sapossed to suck air into the engine bay?? is there a way to tell by lookin at the fins on the fan for what it is setup for?? because this may be the reason behind my overheating problems..

Yes, you do want the fan to be pulling air through the radiator. The fins will be set up to move air one way better than the other most likely, but I dont know how to describe what to look for. I would bet that it was wired wrong though.

That IS the reason for overheating.
