i am putting my old trans back in my car, i cant solve all the leaks in the trans that i just built so, i guess bacn in goes the BRF.

the BRF had a really really bad flare in it, so bad that sometimes when i would launch the car at like 1psi on the street while the car was flaring, it would bounce of the rev limiter once.

thats not to good, but i cant afford to have my car down much longer. so i got to get it running again.

so what would be causing the it to flare that bad? the trans shop said that its the valve body? could it be the valve body? because if it is i have a CZ valvebody that i could throw in there....

No, not likely the valve body. Most likely burnt direct clutches or too much clearance in direct clutch pack. Could also be not enough TV pressure rise.

Sounds bad

I had the 2-3 flair also as you describe among other things. When I tore it apart I found the seals , and clutches in the direct were destroyed. I also found the front bushing in the center section was loose and just sitting in there. Hope this helps. Please post what you find.

humm, well would TV pressure rise be in the valve body? because i dont want to put this in and find that for some weird reason, that it is the valve body.

so, if i wanted to, could i take all the guts out of my AA trans (that i know works, just has to many damn leaks.) and put it in my BRF and hope for the best??

and if so, which valve body should i use?? i have three to chose from:

AA
BR
CZ

which should i use?

thanks for the help

Use the BR or the CZ provided you have the correct corresponding govenors to go with them.

i tryed calling you guys, Mark said he would have you call me, never heard from you... oh well

what i decided to do, is this:

i think i am going to put all the guts out of the trans i just built (the AA) because i know it works, (it just leaks so much that it doesnt have much time to work) and put the guts into my old tranny, the BRF

i pulled apart my BRF to see what was wrong with it exactly, and man, the things that i found wrong.

the overdrive, direct drum and foward clutch assembly clutches were all burnt to hell, but lo/reverse was just fine...

and then, you know how you can take an air blower, and turn the psi down real low, and then apply the pressure to direct drive and what ever other components to see if they are working? well, direct drum, and the forward clutch hardly moved at all..... so could that have been what was causing the flare?

man, and the sad part is that this trans was only built last November.

and is there any way for me to check if a valve body is working properly before i put it in? because like i said, i have a CZ and a BR valvebody. and i would perfer to have the BR valvebody in my car just because it is the orgional. but the shop that built the trans last, said that the BR valve body was no good, thats why i want to check it before i bother using it.

then the servo that was in my BRF was a regular 200-4R servo. what is the best servo that i can put in there?

thanks for all the help
