I have been driving my car a bit more often lately and have noticed when it gets hot, normal operating temperature it shifts harder than when it was cold. When accelerating or coming to a stop I have a firmer shift than when car was cold, it's also slightly delayed probably 5mph later. While coming to a stop I could feel it shift from 3rd into second then from second into first just before I completely stop. I keep the shifter in OD at the time. I had the unit rebuilt last fall, it has billet upgraded parts, frictions, heavy duty servo, CK kit with manual t-brake, large trans cooler, TV cable adjusted the GM way but I had to back it off 2 or 3 clicks as the shifts were very late. On a couple of occasions I had second gear starts after getting on it hard through first, second and third. To cure the second gear start if I manually shift it into first it's fine again.
The lock up solenoid is new and sems to be working fine

Any ideas where to start looking, is this normal, I have driven the car very little so I forget what normal was.

Thanks

Jim

My shift points can vary a bit but usually around 5,200-5,400 rpm. If it's very cool out, I have hit rev limit on occasion when car is making good power. Mind you I am trying to read the scan master for r.p.m. My wonderful VDO GNX style dash tach stopped working working when I installed a Magnavox ignition module, no tach signal but funny enough the scanmaster still shows engine r.p.m.

I'll unplug the lock out solenoid to see if that's it but I don't believe so because I have a switch to manually lock it and when it shifting firmer when hot I can still lock the converter.
