Whats a 109 block

I am curious. Everyone has been talking about wanting a 109 block? What exactly is it? I have a 1987 GN. Is my block not a 109 or is it weaker? Any info on this would be great. Thanks.

The 109 is...

the stock block in the TR's starting in late 85. SG-1 is the crate replacement.

109 is the casting number for the 86-87 3.8 blocks. It was used for turbo or carb engines. It is the best block to use for bigger horsepower. Your is a 109.
