I'm a new member so feel free to haze me. I decided not to post this in the cars for sale section because i haven't decided to sell it yet. I'm getting the itch to buy a 86 or 87 turbo fixer upper and start playing with making it go-fast, but I will have to sell my 84 gn to generate funds. I don't know what price to put on it. I haven't owned the car for very long. The car is completely stock (except for 2 things I will mention) all power optioned 84 gn with the exception of the automatic headlights. Even has the factory glove compartment trunk release and astro-roof. (and power seats). I have installed a pioneer cd player but did not cut any wires or drill any holes and I still have the original factory amfm cassette equalizer head unit. I have also installed a aftermarket larger heat shield under the hood which uses the 2 factory screw holes, but still have the original one. Car is very clean, no rust anywhere, painted once about a year ago and is a very nice paint job. New weather stripping on doors and windows. 64,000 miles (and I feel pretty confident its not 164,000. I have seen cars with less miles look a lot worse than this ones undercarriage, but then who knows? I've seen cars with more miles that look a lot nicer) but no sign of any wreckage, no dents, no filler, no cracks or fading inside. There is one small rip in leather in drivers seat, and a couple holes in the cloth on both front seats, but the foam and padding is perfect. Tranny rebuilt once about a year ago, but is still original as is rearend. Engine and turbo is original and never been rebuilt. Original cat converter, has new exhaust from the y back. Leaks about a drop every 3 or 4 days from the rear main. Check engine light comes on every once in awhile. Is showing a o2 sensor code. Does not smoke on start up, but if you punch it when its cold you can see just a slight smoke in the rear view mirror. You can also hear a slight exhaust leak under the hood when it's cold, but goes away when it warms up. Everything electrical works as it should. has remote for the power locks. Newer BFgoodrich tires. Car is missing nothing. I will try and attach some pictures I took today, but if that fails I can just email them. You'll see in the pictures the car has a lot of lint dust on it from the cloth of the car cover. and there is a bunch of water spots left over from washing it a week ago. pics taken in sunlight. Car is always garaged. That is my 87 gn you will see in some of the pictures beside it, also a fully optioned gn with astroroof. I'm going to hate seperating them. Also should note that I added the grand national emblem on rear decklid. Is $10,000 too high of asking price? $6,000? $12,000? I've been keeping an eye on ebay, but I don't feel thats a good way to guage being every cars condition is differant, and most of those don't sell anyway. I would appreciate any feedback. It looks like I'll be able to submit 5 photos, I've got 5 more I'll try and post with this thread. of the int.

Nice car!
I know this does not help you, but honestly, it all depends on what someone is willing to give for it. Figure what YOU want for it and stick to it.
Good luck!

Why not keep the 84 and do an 87 IC motor swap? You already have a nice car.

I would like to, but just can't bear the thought of going and messing with a car thats all original. I don't want to hurt the value of the car either if it could possibly worth a good chunk of money someday. I got it at a real good price, but that was just one of those rare occaisions where I happened across somebody who really needed money. I'm thinking about putting a $8,500 price tag on it and seeing if it sells. But if theres a chance its worth more because of its nice shape and astroroof and all its originality, then of course I want to get as much as I can for it. Building a fast gn is not going to be cheap.
