I was wondering who makes the best exhaust and whats the best way for it to be ran? dual into a single pipe? I hear someone makes a 3" single exhaust that works best. whats your guys' opinions?

all the exhausts are fine.. No one makes a dual into one system. Its kinda hard to do if ya have only ONE pipe coming off the turbo:)
Hooker makes a fine system on the low end and ATR and Housten makes fin syatems on the high side..

I just put a SS 2 1/2" ATR system on my GN powered Monte SS. What a difference! Picked up 2 lbs boost without touching anything else. Not much louder than stock and fit like it was supposed to. Expensive but worth it!

I picked up a used Hooker system for $150. 2.5" duals with a test pipe. I haven't installed it yet, but I have heard a lot of good things. If you have the money, check out ATR's stuff.

I don't think you could go wrong with either ATR or Terry Housten exhaust. My personal preference is ATR 2.5 Stainless with pitbull stainless mufflers on my Turbo-T. And I just picked up there 3" for the GN at the nats and in Stainless quality pieces in my opinion.:D

Steve:)

You've rec'd some fine advice already, but you might want to tell us your definition of "best" exhaust...What does "best" in this case mean to y-o-u?

EXAMPLES: Street only, Track only, Street/Strip, Loudest, Quitest, Most HP, Most durable, Shiniest, Best fitting, all your other current/planned mods, etcetera?

This info will allow us to give you our "best" answers especially for you & your car. :)

Any 2.5" dual system with straight thru performance mufflers will give you good performance. I have a $150 non mandrel bent, muffler shop special with a $100 pair of used ultraflows on my car and there is no difference in performance between the open dump or running thru the pipes into the mid 11's.

If you need stainless because of the climate you live in, get stainless mufflers, too, because the will rust first. Avoid flowmasters and "turbo" style mufflers because these have more backpressure than the straight thru designs. They may sound good, but will cost performance.
