whats the difference between a 200-R4 and a regular 200-R4?

i was wondering what the major differences between a BRF 200-R4 is and an (for Example) AA 200-R4? my BRF is pretty messed up (its the shops fault and everytime i take it back something else goes wrong) and i have thought that it might be easier (and more cost effective) if i find a 200-R4 and build it myself. i have a friend who has built sevral tranny's for his TR's and is willing teach me how to do it.

now i know that i can get AA-tagged tranny's very easily. so what would i need to do in order to get that tranny to shift good? what about a CZ tranny?

Build the CZ as the calibration is very close to a BR. With the addition of a VB kit and a good servo, you'll be fine. An AA is Cadillac; smoooooth. :p
 
What about an OG? What did that come from? How hard or what do you have to do to get it close to a brf? Thanks!!!
 
THE FACTORY HI PERFORMANCE VALVE BODIES ARE CQ ,CZ FOR HO MONTE CARLO SS AND BQ BR FOR TURBO REGALS.THERE IS ALSO A TTA FOR TURBO TRANS AM AND AN OZ6 FROM A HURST OLDS .THE FIRST FOUR ARE THE MOST COMMON AND READILY AVAILABLE.THESE CARRY A SPECIFIC SHIFT VALVE AND CONTROL BODY CASTING ,AND GOVERNOR TO ALLOW PROPER SHIFT TIMING AT ALL THROTTLE ANGLES AND WIDE OPEN THROTTLE UPSHIFTS UP TO 5200 WITHOUT TOO EASY PASSING GEAR AND LATE PART THROTTLE SHIFTS .THE ONLY ONE WITH A DECENT SERVO THOUGH IS THE BR WHICH CARRIES A 694 COVER AND 692 PISTON .THE FOUR ALSO USE LARGER BOOST VALVES AND THE BQ BR COMES WITH COPPER STRAPS IN THE FRONT AND REAR PLANETARY CARRIERS.THE DOUBLE A (aa) CODE IS AN AWESOME VALVE BODY BUT WONT GO TO 5200 UNLES THE REAR END RATIO IS LOWER THAN 3.42,OR YOU CUSTOM CALIBRATE IT.WE USE IT IN ALL OUR BUILD UPS THAT DONT REQUIRE THE GN VALVE BODY AND IT DOESNT SUFFER FROM INCORRECT SHIFT RPM SPACING LIKE MOST ALL OTHER 2004R VALVE BODIES.IT CAN BE MADE TO GO TO 5200 AND ABOVE WITH HEAVIER SHIFT VALVE SPRINGS AND A SPECIAL TV LIMIT SPRING AND GOVERNOR
