What's the difference between a 85 GN trans and a 87?

I found a B Q 200r4 from a 1985 GN and was thinking of having it rebuilt for a spare for my 87 GN. What will i need to change to make it the same?

I have wondered this as well... I have only been told valve body calibration but that source was less than reliable

I think the servos May have been different. Don’t know about the valve body.

The plug for lock up is different from 85 to 87.an I belive the servo is different.

I took another look the plug on the side looks like the 87 kinda square 4 pin plug.

Yes,looks the same.now look at your plug there are key ways cut in to it that allow it to plug in oneway.

With very few changes it will work. Good unit to have obtained to start with. But your VB and Gov will work. As far as servo yes it needs to be changed but so readily available.
