I've had this problem with two radios now - the original, I replaced because of it, and now the new one (from 87 LeSabre, same except for red backlighting and buttons instead of knobs) does the same thing...
When I'm driving and listening to the radio, sometimes it will lose tune - like I just hit the seek button and its scrolling up the dial. But, the display still shows 98.5, etc. And, its also NOT like I hit seek, because it's like its all of a sudden lost its antenna, can't find any stations in its new 'random seek' feature.
I can always get it back by pounding the console on the side of the radio lightly, with my fist. Its like somethings grounding out or losing connection, so I removed the trim piece and taped up the metal clips, but that made no difference.
I checked out the connections on the back, but there's no obvious problem...I figure it must be one of the connectors, or some external component since it's happening with two different radios.
Mostly happens when warmed up, sometimes when I hit a bump, sometimes all by itself. So far, observed only on FM, only because I don't listen to AM stations.
I have the concert sound II setup. Any ideas?
Thanks for any ideas.
