Wheel Cylinder snap ring

I put new wheel cylinders in or I am putting them in. I had to take a brand new one off. The new snap ring is sprung, but I bent it enough to get it in. Will that hold the cylinder or should I scrap that whole idea and get a complete new hardware kit for just that ring?

The ring that holds the cylinder in place on the axle assembly?

I wouldn't trust it. Not worth your life in malfunctional brakes. Get a hardware kit and have some spare parts.
