Wanting to lift the wheels up a few feet in the air and wanting good advise on what to do or what not to do. I have wondered if I need a spool? Lemme know what I can do safely to achieve this.

Stock suspension for now and 1.5x 60ft times with old combo. New combo seems to hook harder 1.61 spinning out of the hole.I know 90/10 shocks will help the lift, but what else?

If I dont put a roll bar in the car, I will want to make good with what I can in the 60'. The power is there. Lemme know what you think I should do.

Bo,
In order to pull the tires hard you need 60 fts in the low 1.4s. Some will say that theyve done it with less. I have yet to see it. You also need a decent size slick and a agressive rear suspension. Of course a motor with a boat load of power hitting he tire just right will do it on stock suspension. Its all a trade off.

Will my 11.5''slicks spin on the rim after the shock of a 15psi launch? I am getting low 1.6's spinning @ 5-8psi off the line.

Bo,
That really all depends on wheel and tire combo , power and bunches of other things. I know of S2 cars tha have run without ever moving the tire on the rims. Ive seen some spin on less. The only real way to know is to mark the slick and wheel with chalk or something of the kind and check it after several passes.

I have the slicks/wheels marked already. I guess I need to put the power down on a well prepped track first....Last two outings the track was screwed up from ricers going first.

I will report back from tomorrow's passes.

Thanks
Bo

last nights outing resulted in a 1.59 -1.63 and 1.8's later on....All spinning sideways out of the hole. I know there is a 1.4 in there if I can stick it....95mph 7.32 in the 1/8 was the best@24psi boost, but blowing the tires.. seems like less boost doesn't blow the tires away as much, but mph and 1/8 time suffer(makes sense). The car is putting out the power...I need to get it to the ground without worrying about track prep.

Just thinking out loud here.
QA1 adjustable shocks and new bushings for the control arms to start with should help.

Anybody good with these suspensions around here? Or can I get a hold of someone that has killer suspension on a 3rd gen that can help? I need to know the tricks of this suspension.

are you using a DOT tire or a "real" slick?.....there is a lot of difference if you want to launch hard....

you are giving up a lot in 2 areas 1) DOT tires, 2) 16" tires

15" slicks would improve your 60' times

I understand not wanting to change tires, but if ya wanna go fast, it takes some work.....

I dont think I am asking too much as far as just hooking up for right now. Now I know a wheelie should come with traction in the long run and setting the car up that way will be a bit different.

All im doing here is looking for some good advise as to getting a good 60ft and using that traction to possibly launch a wheelie. A lot of this time is just thinking out loud. I do appreciate your input.

Bo,
have you considered going to an aftermarket adjustable torque arm ...Like BMR's? Im thinking some torque arm tweaking may do it. Of course a real slick will help , but not all of the time.

That is my last outing with a 1.59 with little spin on 23psi

When I hit 24-25 psi I completely blow the tires with 1.7-1.8's

I didnt know I was squatting so bad tho.

Hey Bo shoot me an e-mail sometime with your # and I will give you a call. Hell I live not far from you and would like to hang out sometime if your up for it. Where ats are you in Sarasota?

Ya, Russ... We will hook up sometime. I think I met you at a bradenton track event before. Was that you sitting on the cooler about 6mo. ago under JD's tent?

Most likely, I was probably taking a breather and was tired of watching all you guys run those low #'s :)
