When is a bigger intercooler needed?

When does the need to go to a bigger intercooler(I'm mostly talking about stock location) become a problem?? Alky(23 psi) bigger turbo...ie te 44, 60...etc?
Or is just a Dutt neck needed on the stock piece if you aren't going to radical? Thanks in advance!@

Interesting question...

If you have the temp sensor in the up pipe before the TB you should be able to see the inlet temps in powerlogger and guess at ambient temp. There should be a formula to calc the turbo outlet temp at a certain PSI.

As they say "bigger is better" when it comes to Intercoolers but when do you "need" it is the question...
