rcantu, I haven't gotten beyond FedEx's "we didn't do it" claim in order to collect. In EVERY, yes EVERY transaction I have made with UPS, any damaged item was covered 100% of the insured value. They are much better at "understanding" the value of things, especially if you fork over the extra money to pay for that extra insurance. It works most of the time. I have never filed an insurance claim with usps. But the fact that I have to fill out another form for insurance anyways keeps me from shipping usps. With UPS everything is on one form.
Also, an experience I had with a UPS claim: I shipped out a front sway bar, valued at 100$. They tracked it, and lost it. (must have dropped it off at the wrong door). $100 check to me within 2 weeks.
So if they lost what was claimed to be a picasso, yet since it is lost, they can't prove it. They will never know but they have to provide you the insurance payment. If ups loses a box. They are screwed.
