Working on some more power, if it comes together it should be around 525 hp. Should I dual feed at this level?

Wouldn't hurt on any level of build/hp.

My understanding is it isn't needed unless your going to use an electric trans brake....

Not true. When increasing the HP on these cars the direct clutch is a weak spot. Increasing the apply area on the direct piston is the best way to keep the directs from burning/slipping without having to increase the pump pressure to the extreme. If done right it has no drawbacks.

Where you here that? Dual feeding directs should be done in any performance build when a billet drum is used.

Dual feeding makes sense. I have not done it and my trans has 42k miles and over 200 passes as is. All well in the 11's and close to 120mph. Hope this helps answer your question.

My fourth gear clutches are starting to give up; just started showing signs this weekend. I'll just stop using OD for a while.

I was told never to really get into boost in OD. Not that you do, but it's just the weak link of the system. So basically I'm done at 130. Lol

Strength basics for the 2004r... Pump and valve body mods, billet forward drum and dual feeding, adding a extra clutch to OD and of course better frictions. These should be done to all rebuilds imo.

I def do. The no boost in 4th rule I thought was made because the planet itself is weak; some were good; mine apparently is, but there is not enough clutch material on OD to take a lot of power. I'm pretty happy with 40+k miles on my build though and I've driven hard in 4th gear plenty, so I'm about due for something to start wearing out.

You should be done closer to 140 due to 275 tire and around 6000 rpms..
