Behind the turbo, separating the turbo from the end of the passenger-side valve cover. It gets bolted onto the turbo hoop.

Are you sure? There was another little shield that I thought went there? I put it there anyway.

Man, that one has me stumped! It's definately NOT the behind the turbo shield.

I only recall two shields - the one behind the turbo, and the one next to the starter (and maybe one on the floor above the catalytic converter). Maybe some pictures from other angles would help us?

There was a bigger one that goes over the starter to shield it from the headers another That holds the trans lines by the starter the one that goes behind the turbo and this one....
On the starter ??? I don't remember one...
Anyway. Hoping to finish this thing up tomorrow.

It goes on the back of the right head in the lower bolt hole.

I put two of the grounds in the upper bolt hole in the passenger side head where they went originally before I got my engine all the way in. For the other three grounds on that side, I took out the engine hoist loop and moved the stud to the back corner so I could mount the other three grounds to it.

You can leave it off. Only the 87's had that shield. I have a couple of them sitting in my shop

Thank god for my new lift I don't think I'd got it otherwise!

It goes in the box of junk you take off the car and never put back on. Nothing like that on mine and haven't melted any thing.

Where did you end up putting it, can't tell from the picture ?

It is in the lower bolt hole in the back of the head. It joins to the bigger shield above the starter. Kinda protected the harness as it snakes in under the big shield. I think that's where it goes.
