Ok, so right now I'm putting two and two together.. The paint on my car is chipping, and its a dark blue underneath it..and GN's only came in black.. then the VIN number on the front is slightly bent...and Im starting to think its a stolen car with a wrong VIN.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Well, the block should have the vin on it, as long as it hasn't been replaced. It is on the driver's side near the bell housing area.
Where is your paint chipping? On the body, or one of the replacable panels, like a door or fender? You never know, maybe someone wanted a Blue GN, and the next owner didn't. Maybe you've been lied to, and the car isn't stolen, instead, the car was a 'T' and someone just wanted a GN instead.

GN did not have there own vin # you can only tell if it is a turbo Regal. There is the vin # on the trans and engine. If you have the original engine and trans. There is also a vin # on the frame by the drivers door on top I believe.
Look at the RPO sticker in the trunk. On the trunk lid you should find the code WE2 for GN. You could also look for a build sheet , might be behind door panels or under the back seat.

It's kinda hard to tell. I took my DS door panel off an noticed the door was blue. I remember the guy telling me it was hit on the DS side. It is possible the thing was creamed and pieces were replaced. YOu could see if anyone on here has a carfax and could run the VIN that you have. When I sold it, the guy said ti was hit pretty good (not that I cared) and he pointed out all the thing that were replaced.

The vin # will only tell if it is a turbo regal or not . Will not tell if it is a GN You have to look at the RPO sticker in the trunk. The only Regal that had there own vin # was the Regal Limited.

While you have ur DS door panel off, there should be a piece of yellow old paper in there. Mine said WE2 on it really big and some info on windows or something, i forget. But while you have the panel off, take a look....

i think there is a number on the frame, drivers side to the back of the car. i've seen what looked like a vin number on mine somewhere but i dont' remember where, its been a while.

if the vin on the block maches the one on the dash, and the title i don't think you have anything to worry about as far as it being stolen.

i dont know whats going on with the ebay deal, but do yourself a favor and take care of it and do the right thing. i recently got screwed on a wheel i bought and let me tell you it sucks.

thanks for the help! I dont know if I take my panels off if it will work, because he got the inside re-apulstered(sp?). But I will still look anyway.

What part of the block is it on?

Thanks again!

IF the VIN matches the title, shouldn't I have nothing to worry about? Because you cant switch VIN's randomly, right? Because the DMV would notice the other car's VIN stolen in their database, right? I got a carfax for its entire history and the only odd thing is that it has inconsistent OD readings, which goes with the report, and I believe that because I met with the guy twice and the first time he had 84k and the second time 71k, so that I can attest for.

SO you think Im just worrying about nothing if the carfax shows everything good, and the vin matches the title?

Well I just looked in the trunk at that stamp thing, and the VIN matched, and it said WE2 among all the other numbers!!!!

IM SO HAPPY!!!!!!! Thank you all for your help!!

very good!
i believe though there is another VIN on the frame... facing up right under the drivers side door

very hard to get too... would have to clean it off blindly and then use a mirror to see

my buddys monty was stolen and recovered with all the VINs taken off... cops or insurance or whoever cut a square in the floor pan to see the vin and it was his car...

so there is another vin that most likely wouldnt be filed off if you really want to know!
