where to get plug wires

who makes a good set of wires for these cars I have not had any luck so far, or is there some secret to making them last longer

i bought the msd's wires
it kinda pissed me off that 2 wires for the passenger side arent exactly long enough to tuck them into there normal route along the valve cover.

so it'd probli be better to buy the ones you have to make

cuz now im gonna hafta replace 2 after i just bought 6 lol

If you are looking for black ones like I was, try www.jaysgn.com . I have these on both my cars and they are length matched for each cylinder. I think they are 8.5 mm, anyway not so thick that they don't bend well. Tim

you probly know this but Poston sells spark plug wires that are "stock color" for like 59 a set they are cut to the exact length for GNs. Where did ya get the MSD from? I orderd some last Fri from summit and the guy said they were "custom" for my 84 GN. same with you?

welp i ordered them from ramchargers.com

supposibly for all grand nationals
but 2 were short and looked stupid, i could get them to reach but they would not tuck along the same route the stock wires used on the passenger side

Red at Quad Air Inc sells plug wires that fit. There 8mm black silicone rubber. They look good and fit nice and cost 28.00 + 9.00 for shipping. His number is (440) 235-3232. Make sure you tell them there for a 84 -85. Keep trying them if the line is busy.

got my msd's from summit for 86-87 car and used them on my hotair motor ... they are the only wires out of many that would hold up and not arck thru..but like mentioned they have to go across the valve cover instead of in front of it.

going around the front of the valve cover was a bad idea from gm.. it makes the mires come in contact with alot of edges and each other which make it easier to get crossfire under boost

Jacobs wires

Here is the lowdown on Jacobs 8.8 mm wires.....I bought set of wires from them about 2 years ago and they are still fine.
They came with a straight end that goes on the plug, they can be bent to fit away from your exhaust manifold. Once they get hot a few times, they will take a "seat" and stay the way you want them. The other end you can cut to the length you want and apply the coilpack end. This is a very simple procedure. A little bit tedious but still simple and straightforward. The good news is their customer service. About a year later I made some changes in the engine compartment and a few wires were to long so I called them and told them what I had done and they sent me a new kit with more coilpack ends....FREE of charge. My dad runs these on his HotAir car with the same results. He even pulled an end off the sparkplug side, called them, told them what happened, they asked him what was the end to end length and in two days they sent him a new wire cut to the correct length with both ends already made on , Also FREE of charge.
My dad has used them in his car for about 8 years now with no problems

The downside is that they are a little pricey , I think I paid about 85$ for mine 2 years ago. I would reccomend that you buy them from Jacobs and not from a vendor so in case you have a problem or question you can deal directly with them.........Good Luck

Msd's

I'm running a set of msd's which I got from autozone. It took them 2-3 days to get them. But like some else 2 of the wires barely cut it.
