Where to launch on transbrake?

Just curious, havent raced with transbrake yet. Car should run mid to high
11s. Those of you with transbrakes, what boost do you launch at? Most boost with stock rearend? After this winter and have modded rear end, do I then launch at full boost? Is there a difference in 60' from launching at 18 to 21 #s. Also, what kind of 60's can I expect from a mid 11 second car, rear suspension done, and launching off of transbrake? Thanks in advance, just curiuos.

Not sure about most, but I wouldn't launch off t-brake at 20# with stock rear end. I'm just finishing re-assembly of mine from a tranny swap. I went ahead and got a new 3.5" torque tech aluminum driveshaft, a rear-end girdle, rear-end tube brace kit, and a very large B&M cooler w/fan (T-brakes will get the fluid really hot). I do have extended ARP studs, but still stock axles w/ c-clips. There is a thread I started about what to upgrade with a t-brake, if you search by user name. But no one stated what boost to launch at. I doubt I ever go higher than 10# with stock rear.

But, it'll be interesting to hear what others say

I launch at 17psi off of a brake with a stock rear with no problems so far. 1.57 60' :smile:

My 11 sec car, with a loose convertor, liked launching at 10psi. ~1.50 60's. 28x9 Slicks, stock rear with ATR bar and boxed lowers.
With a tighter t/c I had to launch at 15psi to get 1.60 60 ft's. Half the time it would spin.

it's all up to how the track is hooking.. sometimes i launch off the T-brake at 20+psi, but the other times i launch at 13psi.. i have notice that most of the time, lower PSI launches help.. i avg between 1.45 to 1.50 60fts.. my best has been as low as 1.39..

YES.. its fully built now...

my stocker let go at Atco on a 17psi launch. snapped a axle and 3 teeth of the stock gears.. it did have over 100K worth of miles on it.. make sure you installed C-clips on your next rear end (i have them now)..
