Where to mount IAT (MAT) sensor?

I’m currently installing a FAST system with 4-inch mass pipe. Where is the best place to mount IAT (MAT) sensor? Is it best near filter or after intercooler closer to throttle body?

I drill and tap the upper plenum to mount it there.

Our cars do not use it for much. Only makes adjustments in extreme conditions. You can disconnect it and not have any problems. You could locate it anywher outside the air pipe and be ok so that it always reads ambient air Temp... makes the mixture slightly richer when its colder.

The FAST system uses the MAT. Needs to be in up pipe or plenum, not in the air intake or engine compartment.
