Guys, i've been offered a Buick v6 motor for next to nothing, but I dont have the number off the block yet. Over here in the UK all Buick parts are scarce so i should at least know if it is worth having.
I have this list;

Buick V6 History

Other than the 86/87 yr blocks, which other years can I use for a turbo build up at some future stage?

Many thanks.

Any of the even fire engines can be used. If you've got an 86-87 then you'd have to drill the hole for the oil return and that's about it.

Did you mean to say 84/85?

85 and earlier cars drain the oil from the turbo through the intake. The 86-87 cars have a hole drilled in the front of the block so you'd have to drill and tap the hole for the drain.

One guy is talking cars, other guy is talking blocks...

Or you can run the return to the oil pan...

...

Too early in the morning.:D I was talking blocks and Charlie cars.

LOL I was revering to the blocks in relation to the cars.:biggrin: An earlier block will need the drain back hole drilled if it's intended to be used in an 86-87 car.:smile:
