I am ready to lease a car for the business for me to drive daily. I am selling the Cutlass in case anyone is interested, BTW - Contact me off list for details on that.

I am kinda torn. Just needs to get me around, but still be able to hold the family if needed. I have thought about a Regal GS supercharged, or a WRX 5 speed. The WRX STI is just wayyy to expensive and hard to get now. But, the regular WRX they are willing to deal....

Anyone have any thoughts???

Be carefull! You don't want to buy something that may give you the" bug" if it's your daily driver/work car.

that's what i was thinkin!!! buy a pinto;) unless you can control yourself with "the bug". you know yourself better than i do so it's up to you, but a regal or WRX would be nice!!!

SUBARU WRX

W-R-X, for sure! :) Keep your commuting interesting!

(We've got 5 STis on dealer lots within a 50-mile radius, and they're all stickered approx. 4500-5500 above a regular WRX.
2.5 motor, 300 hp!)

buddy of mine just bought a 04 sti today and he loves it! he also has a 87 t rosewood...loves the T better! i would go for the wrx as a daily i ended up with a new monte carlo ss.its quick but im used to boost.should've got a gtp o well lata greg

That's a tough call.
As much as I like the WRX, I'd have a hard time throwing around gears in a daily driver. BTDT. 10 years of it was enough, now I drive a T. :D

if you can lease ANY car (within reason) and you need to get the fam around still and use as a daily driver, can you wait till the very end of the year or perhaps January?? If so, go put in an order for a new GTO!!!!!!!!! If you can't wait till then, I would git me a new grand prix. I love them in that burnt orange color. Supercharged perhaps...........................;)

The WRX may be fast but it has to be the ugliest car since the Pacer.

I would wait for the Hemi 300 or if fuel economy is an issue the GTP or S/C Regal.

I have a GS Regal as my company car and I would fully endorse it as a great all purpose machine. It is quick, comfortable and reliable. I have had NO issues with mine during the first 54k miles.

WOW! Its been a year or two since I looked closer at the Regal GS. I thought it was a heck of a buy at 25K, but at 30K? No way....

Its not about affording - its about justifying. I have limited me to around a 25K price tag (which is about $300/mo $0 down lease)

The quote on the STI was $570/mo!!!!! I told the guy he was on crack....

A GTO and those others would be nice - but again, they are gonna be more then 25K......

Thanks for all the help!

Geez for $25K I'd have two fast TR's to drive.

Two in good shape toooooo. :)

And real room for the family. ;)

Then you'd have 2 cars to maintain, swap out rubber parts, worn bushings, etc. He's looking for something reliable for his family that he doesn't have to worry about. There's a lot more difference in a new car and a 16 year old car than price.

On topic, I'd go with the WRX but in the hatch back version. A little more room, $500 less, IIRC, and I think they look better. More proportioned, somehow. I'd also consider a Jetta or Passat wagon. Not much to look at on the outside, but the interior is just incredible. Check out the gauges at night. Really sharp. Lots of engine choices. Another good one for the money is a Toyota Matrix. Trying to get my wife to consider one of those. <$20k, looks sharp, almost 30 MPG in town.

I would go with a Maxima. 265 HP with give you plenty of power to keep the commute interesting and they are far more dependable than the 2 cars you mentioned. Just my $.02.

Thanks - a TR is not an option. The company can afford to lease (which means new), not buy a car. Plus, it needs to be newer, snow friendly, and good enough to pull up to a customers business in.

I was considering the sport wagon version anyway. Now I have to go drive one to see if I can fit in it! ;)

Go with the Regal if you visit businesses. Shows you are smart enough to keep the dollars over here, which trickles down to their business eventually.

Dont get a WRX if your driving with the family......too small, get a new supercharged regal GS or a my favorite the Buick Ultra:D in black of course

AHH Yes the ULTRA PARK AVE.. Great family hauler :)

More class for buisness. ;)

Unless your clients are ricers?

How about a Dodge Neon SRT-4?

I'd try to find a barely used 2002-2003 Regal GS or Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with very very low miles. You'd save thousands over buying one new.
