I would like to know which do you guys think is better Hot-jet coating or thermo-tec header wrap? Why do you feel one is better than the other?

i personally like coating on headers, mostly for the look. the wrap might keep the heat in a little better but can also get soaked in oil and be tough to clean. I got mine ceramic coated.

Got both my headers on both cars jet hot it gets coated on the inside nothing happens. Good think I like about them are that they polish up and look as good as when you got them.

Jet-hot coatings is the site people get it done the most. They are a very popular option. I had mine done by thermal-tech because they were close and me and a few buddies have had terrific results. I know their website is under construction, but they do very good work. http://www.thermaltechcoatings.com/ I wouldn't waste 2$ on the wrap

Ghall, Do you remember the price to have it done. And I see your right up the road from me!!! An are you going to the Turbo Buick Nats?

Thermal wrap and thermal coatings are kinda apples and oranges. On is a quick cheap way to reduce heat transfer or you don't really care about looks. Like on a race car or something with limited use. I've seem them come undone/ catch fire from being oil soaked. Today's ccoatings properly applied are pretty good.
And I don't recommend getting the inside coated for various reasons the some would argue....but I would win....:)

Ceramic coat all the way. Talk to your local powdercoater. If he/she has the capability to do ceramic coating and they seem like they have the experience and know-how to apply it right then give them a shot. No need to ship stuff off to get it done. Ceramic goes on really thin btw.

Thanks for the input guys. I want what's going to keep the heat down under the hood the best

If that's the case have them apply a thermal barrier then ceramic coat over it.

Thermal coating all the way. Be careful of the header wraps, I have seen a few sets of headers destroyed. The wrap holds the heat in and when you unwrap them they crumble and crack:oops:

Thermal insulating type coatings are very good but ugly. So if you can get a coater to apply it first then apply a pretty ceramic coating over it ......ya got something. But be prepared it will not be cheap.

I bought my stock headers on my WE4 on ebay already coated for $200 got fortunate to find them.
On the GN I paid around $450.00-$550 to get my headers and crossoverpipe and turbo shield done.
