I just bought the Hurst one Nick told me to buy from Summit.

Well i installed mine also tonight!!

We bled the brakes, but sadly enough, i was going to replace my pads also, but realized the previous owner put on the locked lug nuts on there and i have no key!!!!!  But i did a burn out....couldnt be any easier!

A total of 65 dollars for everything!

The adapters you'll need are the following..

Go to Oreillys, and ask for these part numbers..124520 (5/16 x 1/8) this one will screw into the orig brake line to the solenoid, then 258350 (3/16 x 5/16) from the MC to the line you'll run to the solenoid, then 124320 (3/16 x 1/8) for the line from the MC to go into the solenoid.

Here are the photos from it.

Someone else also said they bought the fittings at O'Reilly's (in another recent post). I went there and they didn't have any fittings. I was only able to buy the brake line there, from the solenoid to the master cylinder. I bought the fittings from Carquest. It took three trips but I was able to get them. I bought an orange LED from Radio Shack instead of using the big red bulb that came with the kit. I mounted the LED on the A pillar next to my battery voltage gauge. Now I have every colored light in the universe! How come people are so afraid of accidently hitting the line lock switch while driving? The line lock doesn't engage unless you first press down on the brake pedal. Must be an urban legend. I mounted the switch on the tilt steering wheel lever. I never knew that the lever just unscrews. I'm surprised that after all these years it never came lose and fell off!

The issue of installing the line lock at the MC or after the proportioning valve is interesting. However, NHRA rules require the line lock to be installed after the proportioning valve. Has anyone had a problem at an NHRA track for having it installed at the Matser Cylinder?
Thanks for the recall information about the proportioning valve - I will be checking into that.
***Scot W, can you go over what fittings you had to use and what sizes? Also, where did you get the brake line from the MC to the line lock and what size is it?

I've heard that for years, and even though it's true, I've never had a single track tech call me on it. I don't hit the big tracks anylonger but used to run Pamona and Vegas.

I have never had an issue with that at tech inspection and I have had some very "enthusiastic" tech inspetors at Bandimere.

I didnt see the need to get an indicator light, because if its 'locking' then it's working. No need for any more lights/leds for me! ;)

I got my brakes bled today and was still unhappy with the line lock. I figured I would go to the track and try it anyways. Well, the thing works awsome. It took a little while to get the hang of it. Burn outs were easy. They I went to the line and used it there too. I know, it wasn't meant for that. I used it at the line on my last pass of the night. I actually thought I would push through the lights, but I just wanted to try it and see how well it would work. Turns out I didn't push, and left with too much boost. My BFG drag radials spun and I had a 2.2 sec. 60 foot time. It was my worst 60' time of the night and I was actually happy! Just wait till next week! I also like my orange led. Kind of like a visual on my tv to show me I am turning up or down the volume. Sure, i know if the volume is going up or down, but I just like to see it too.
