Which piston?

I have Diamonds in my Mustang and my friend Ralph has them in his Buick (as RPE had recommended to him). They are very high quality with a very large fire ring at the top. They also offer off the shelf pistons (atleast for Fords and Chevys) in odd ball sizes. For my Mustang I needed an .035" and they had them in that size as a off the shelf size. Whereas other manufacturers would hit you with the substantial custom fees.

I am putting .20 Diamond Pistons in my car right now. I am building a decent set-up: Eagle Crank, Diamond Pistons, H-Beam rods, Roller Cam, GN1 Heads, 70 Series turbo (trying to decide which one), etc......

Hmmm. Looks like things are leaning towards Diamonds. Going to be about the same as the JE's. Tough one. I have the 4340 crank and K1 rods w/ a gurdle and caps. Want something to hold up.

A quench? Looks like im going to get these. If its not too much trouble and if you already have, how much do they weigh? Provided you have a gram scale. Thanks. The JE is 542.

Mike- will the Z1 rods work with an eagle crank and diamond pistons?

The K1 Rods will work fine with the Eagle crank. We have the rods in 5.960 with .940 wrist pin just like stock and we also have them in 6" with a .927 pin. We have the matching Diamond pistons for both size rods

Which combo of rods and pins would be stronger? the 5.960" with .940pins?

The .927 pin is std. on a SBC an has proven to be very strong. I doubt you would see any diff in strength. The .940 pin is heavier for sure.
