Hi guys, Im from Australia. This is my first post on this site. Unfortunately in Aus we dont have the GN's or many performance buick sites/shops.

Im currently doing a project with a Toyota 4wd and a buick 3.8L Turbo setup.

My issue is turbo size.

I have so far:
Rebuilt motor
rebuilt th700 with quick shift kit
2 bar map sensor
36lb inj
Mod chip to suit
Front mount IC
BOV
full 3" mandrel exh

I have 2 turbos at the moment but I think they are both too big.

1 is a Garrett GT4082, with a 1.18 rear housing

1 is a Garrett T04b with a 1.15 housing.

My question is. What turbo should I run to get good mid range power from 2200rpm up to 3700rpm. What size trim, wheels, ar/housing?

Any help would be great, and before you say go and buy a new one...this build has taken all my money and eaten it..so ill have to sell/swap what ive already got. thanks

Interesting build, with 36lb injectors you're not going to be able to run a large turbo so what's the WOT goal in hp/tq?

With those injectors I'd consider a much smaller turbo, a 61mm comp wheel being the biggest. Also run a small housing to help that low/mid spool and power, like a .63.

Id like to see 325hp. What do you think about the T04b with a 0.86 housing?
The .63 would be spooling non stop I think.
I dont want to be boosting at cruising speed. This is a fairly heavy truck. and I do a lot of hwy travel.

I forgot to mention the LP fuel pump, surge tank and Bosch 044 fuel pump in the mods.

Ok, Ive found a KKR 560 turbo. Has anyone used one of these before? Ill post the specs.
Oil-cooled, 0.84 turbine housing suits T3 size flange
Internal wastegate with 8psi actuator
Suitable for single-turbo applications on 3.0-4.5 litre engines, or in twin turbo kits on 6.0 to 7.0 litre engines
Comes with 71mm V-band section and V-band for dump pipe, T3 exhaust gasket, oil inlet banjo bolt and oil return gasket.
Specifications for KKR560core:
Compressor inlet pipe 76mm, compressor outlet pipe 50mm
55 trim compressor; inducer 61mm, exducer 82mm
Turbine wheel outlet 56mm, outer diameter 73mm

How does that sound? should spool at about 2500?
