Whine

Getting a light whine from 200R4...sounds almost identical to bad power steering pump. Hear it in 1st and 2nd gear....can put in neautral at 20 - 30 mph and sound goes away...back into drive and it pops up again. Car runs great and trans shifts perfect. Pulled pan and fluid was clean...no appreciable stuff in pan. From doing some searches, I though maybe it was bad torque convertor. Swapped out torque convertor with another D5, but sound is still there. Any other ideas? I have this car scheduled to go to the auction next Tuesday. If I can't solve this this weekend, I will put a note on the car that the transmission may need work...which will probably kill the chances of the car selling. The noise is light enough, that some may not notice it, but I do not want anyone bidding on the car without knowing about this sound.

Most likely it's the Trans Pump whining. It can sound just like a Pwr. Steering Pump.

Have you noticed any fluid leaking? Check the fluid level again too.

Got lucky and Eagle transmission said they can sort out the problem and have car ready for me Wed AM, which gives me plenty of time to get the car signed in to Mecum. Buyer will now have a very nice TTA with a freshly rebuilt tranny.

I'll post the results of what they find later in the week.
