3 weeks ago my old refrigerator kicked the bucket, so I went to the local Lowes and bought a Whirlpool based on the consumer reports and some friends experience. It never really got as cold as it should have, so I decided I would call today to set up an appt. to have it looked at under warranty. But this morning I find out the damn thing is not working at all, and stuff is thawing. So I call and get the run around on who Whirlpool will pay to fix it, blah blah blah, and basically they tell me I'm screwed. AND they don't feel they should pay for the food I will lose! I wasted 2 or 3 hours on the phone, getting BS'ed, until I finally called Lowes and asked if they could help (Its not really their problem per se, but it was worth a shot.) After a grand total of maybe 10 minutes on the phone and not getting transfered ONCE, I have a new fridge on the way in an hour or less. Thats service right there!

In conclusion, Whirlpool sucks, Lowes=

That is all.

I've found its easier to deal with the department store you bought something from than it is to deal with the manufacturer.

I got the new one all loaded up, the delivery guys were cool. They saw my GMP die casts and asked if I actually had a GN. They wanted to see it when they were done, so I took them out to the garage and they were flippin' out. The one guy kept saying "I can't believe it makes so much power!" and the other guy kept saying "And its a 6 cylinder!" I would have offered them a cold drink but my fridge was broke. I felt bad, they worked late to bring it to me. I was pleasantly suprised how well Lowes treated me, they could have easily told me to get lost like Whirlpool did, and seriously, what am I gonna do? Bitch and moan, but not much else.

Its funny, the extrememly rude woman from Whirlpool told me to get some dry ice to keep my food cold until it was fixed. I was like "Ok, I'll just run over to my local 7-11 and get some dry ice, and while I'm at it I'll see of they have some plutonium and a hubcap for a 79 pinto." I hope that chick gets a flat on the way home.

I thought you were going to say that they told you to call Dennis and Son to fix it.

I bought all GE Profile stuff. I hope not to get bad customer satisfaction when the time comes.
