nice job t-typex1. that's what i'm talking about....if it's all there you know exactly what you are doing rather than reverse-engineer what someone else did or started to do.

I tell that to everyone thats deciding on building one up or buying one done. You build it, no guessing whats on it. You already know!!

I think ANY Turbo Buick is worth rebuilding. When you rebuild them, make it exactly(or as close to exact) what you want. In the end, you'll have a nice Buick, and know whats done to it without having to guess. I started with an 85 T-Type that needed a lot of help. I've put in enough money that I could have bought a nice already done car, probably for less money. But I have what I want and know whats on my car and that it'll be reliable for me. I look at it as I saved a car that may have been a potential parts car:eek:

I'm happy with the results

I like your taste, it's the closest looking one to Project TNX I have seen, nice.

Thanks. I've been building since fall 04. I think its about 75% completed. When I'm done it should be a high 10's full street car, with working air:D

I think that was worth the price. I don't understand why people part out a GN when it is definitely restorable. I think this car is a little too special to be torn apart and junked. I mean mine I have now is in worse shape than that and I was offered 5000 for it so 3500 I think is a good deal.

I don't know this for sure but i think there is alot more of the GN's still around than what you guys think there is!!!! Every show i go to i am told at least once or twice about so and so having one or two Gn's home in a garage or barn?????????Of course i live in an area that prolly a great percentage of total sales of Gn's was locally bought.

amen!

Worth is not determined by the owners opinion or doings. It's determined by market value. That means everyone else BUT you. You could have a good condition gnx and think it's only worth 15 grand all day long. That still doesn't mean you're not sitting on a very rare and expensive car.

Somebody paid to much for a parts car IMO. Notice the car in question has T-tops. And the general shape of this car puts it in the POS class for sure. Add it all up and it means this car has no floor pan left. I'd almost bet that the windshield header is gone too. I hate rust. I hate to look at rust and I hate to repair rust. Why anybody would pay good money and than dump more money into it is beyound any logic. Sometimes you just have to walk away. And some times you should run away. It's just a F'n mass produced car. Thousands more in better shape out there if you bother to look for them.

Why all the hate on Brian? Look on his website. He also sells cars. If you ask me he makes a lot more sense than most of the peeps condeming him. He could easily dupe some of you into paying good money for a POS but this man has morals. Those cars get parted out so some dumba$$ cant flip them on eBay like the shill in question.

No hate, I just used him as an example of a company that parts a decent amount of buicks. If the car is in fact too far to save, then by all means, take it apart, wire wheel or sand blast the parts, and ship 'em out. But if it could be saved, why not?

I bought this one for a little more than whoever bought the original car...

While I can see your logic, I will agree that if it can be saved then by all means save it. However I also will agree if it's too far gone, then you might want to reconsider, unless you are dead set on owning a true GN. And while the price might be high, whoever bought it felt it was worth their $$.

That car is definitely rough around the edges, no kidding about that. But the $50 question is just how bad is it?

The seller didn't show any close up pics, no under carriage pics...so for all we know it may just need a patch panel here or there. And then again it may be a "Flintstone car". (no pun intended)

Hopefully who ever bought it will soon register here and let us all know it has solid floor pans and such, just needs some TLC.

And yes this car was mass produced.....to the count of over 20,000. The good thing is as of now these cars aren't as scarce as finding a 69 Camaro or an old Mopar, but I'm sure it won't be much longer before even finding a true GN will be a challenge to find. So you might want to start saving them while they still exist. (unless they're totally destroyed by accident/fire)

I can see it now....one day all the true GN's will have gone to the crusher, and we will have a mass amount of clones floating out there....and people will be getting scammed by getting sold a "clone GN" for what a true GN goes for.

Bweavy killer of Turbo Buicks

EVERY buick should be restored. It's people like like bweavy and them, who just want the money for parts, instead of restoring them. It's ALWAYS worth it, trust me. There's probably less than half of our cars left because of 'parting it out' types. I'm guessing around 15,000 total IC cars left, with around 10,000 ic gn's left around. That makes them rare in my book, and they should be treated with MUCH more respect than people give them.

Guys, at this rate, it's not going to be too much longer, before there is no more donor cars. It's going to get reeeal hard to find parts for 'em, and the prices of our cars are going to skyrocket like you wouldn't believe. For all them fools who sold their factory intercoolers, turbos, injectors and wheels, for all the go-fast parts, you're going to feel like a dummy at the car show in 2028 when the all factory GN sitting next to you is commanding a 45,000 dollar price tag, ONLY because it's stock, and your pt77 turboed car only gets an onlooker every other hour. You're going to kick yourself in the pants.
Remember how mad your parents were, when they found out how much Chrysler E bodies were going for in the local auto trader? "MAN!, we used to take our challenger grocery shopping. Garage? We had no garage, we just let it sit in the rain. We sold that stupid car for 500 bucks back in 84, to buy the brand new K car." Don't be that dummy. Learn from your parents. You're driving this generations 'cuda.

You gotta be kidding me  I was suppose to actually get that car.We restore moon roof cars. Think I'm kidding? I have no less then 30 moon roofs here. That car would have been put back together if it came here. The guy that bought it put it on e-bay. The Junk Yard owner hemmed & hauled about selling it. The seller e-mailed me about a grill for it. I part it for $, well yes I own a business & have over head & make $ doing what I enjoy. I know I'm not suppose to make $. :(
Question do you think I screwed that car up? No some one else did. Did you see where it ended up initially, in a junk yard. Now scraping a car like that for $500 in steel who's doing it for just the $?
We take cars that people think are crap & done , rip them apart to save at least 100 more Turbo cars. When is the last time you paid $900 for a regular regal knowing it would help save a bunch of turbo cars? I do it daily. They sit here waiting on an insurance company telling us a horror story of how some one wrecked a 4400 mile GN or limited.
I have been thru over 600 of these cars. I have 125+ here now. How much do I make when some one needs a 10 cent or $3.00 part & I mail it for free? How much $ do you think I have laid out in parts cars just sitting here to hear you want how much for that part?
I know the next question well have much have you made? Enough to re-invest my $ making new parts for a 20+ year old car to keep them on the road. Because I enjoy the cars !!!
Ask a few people that stopped by our shops over the years why don't you part wh-1's (463 made),we-4's (1547 made) or limiteds(1035 made). My response too rare of a car. Want to build a stage 2 car don't rip apart your GN grab a clean rust free regal & clone it.
BTW I have cars we are restoring that have over $45k in them now. I own at least 30 personal cars. So when you get in a fender bender because some idiot ran a light you can thank a Bweavy & cuss the idiot that turned a car into a parts car to save yours.

lol .. just keep up the good work Brian

Totally. I understand what you do. I have no problem with you guys, as you DO in fact, do a TON for our community. A lot of us would be just screwed without you. I just used you as a parter example. Not meant to be in a negative light, although it sounded like it. I know you guys restore a lot of the neglected cars, though, you part out a lot too. I just needed an example of a place that does in fact part them out. I know it's not YOU guys personally that are ruining these cars, it's the previous owners that have neglected them to the point of no return. Between these people, we're not going to have a whole heck of a lot left in the next 10 years. It's really sad. The only car I actually fall in love with, happens to be a rare and disrespected car. All these ferarris in peoples garages in my neighboring cities (birmingham and grosse pointe) just sit there under some 300 dollar car cover, collecting dust. And then when they bring 'em out, they either drive 'em like old people, or when they do try to get on them, they're slow as dog sh**. Any buick on alky would just destroy those overpriced cars, and they sit all protected, and our cars die everyday. It sucks.

The modern marvel that is the turbo buick is quickly dying out. I hate it. Ok, my rant is over. Sorry.

I don't understand how people can piece out really nice cars to  they are cars for christ sake ... DRIVEM LIKE YA STOLE THEM !!! your DEAD for a long time  ok have to get out to the garage and wax the car :p "IF IN DOUBT PIECE IT OUT"
