I am going to the Bahamas in three weeks. Any advice for traveling there? Like currency or anything else to be aware of.

Also, what are the good night spots there? We are staying at the Grand Wyndam.

TIA

Plenty of good night spots....

Im actually thinking about moving to the Bahama's in a few months.I like it there and Florida isnt far away at all.

Nothing really special to know except be sure to tip!!It stands for somthing special in Caribean countries.Tourist Info Prevents Starvation!!!

Even British territories are VERY,VERY similar to America so dont be expecting a different world when you get there.

I have been twice. If you get a chance go to Paradise Island/Hotel/Casino and tour the aquarium. It is incredible. Be prepared to eat a lot of Conch. It is really good. Have fun.

Went back in '93. Beautiful place. If you play any golf, I recommend squeezing in a round. Just rent clubs, you won't shoot well anyway. There is nothing like hitting a stray drive into the ocean, at least in Missouri.

There are no currency issues, just have plenty of small bills for tip money. Ones for little stuff and fives for an actual service. Kind of like a strip club. The better your tip, the better the service.

And you will get your fill of all things Conch and I got tired of all things Junkanoo. Maybe it's just me, but you'll see when you get there.

Have a nice trip.

Conch is a shelled creature that is native to that area. There are conch shells everywhere and there is plenty of conch to eat.

Junkanoo is some kind of fruit juice of blend of fruits. You can get it in a can from the vending machines or mixed with just about any kind of alcohol(except methanol) from the bars. It's really sweet.

Bahamas.... just got back

I just came from the Bahamas spent all last week there. It was great. If you go to Nassau visit Atlantis that place is spectacular. Two things to prepare for,

#1 bring plenty of money

#2 get ready for the most intense taxi experience. I don't know how taxi's are in big cities but in the Bahamas it's no holds barred.
