WOW!!!!!! Like too thank all of you for Keeping us safe..... :) :)

My old man was a cave rat in the Marines. He went in at age 16 in 1946. His job was to go through the south pacific and gather up jap prisoners. He said most of them would not surrender, so they would have to go get them. Sounds like his job sucked. Anyway, I considered going into the Marine Corp in 1975, but my Dad talked me out of it. I told him I wanted a job where I could help people. So I decided to stay here and become a firefighter. Lots of firefighters and cops in the family. So I have been in this business since I was 18 years old. Don't regret it, it's been a good ride, but I sometimes feel kinda guilty for not going in. I think I would have been good at it.

Mainly I just want to say THANK YOU guys for protecting all of the rest of us. I truly appreciate the service and sacrifice you have made for keeping us safe here in the good old USA.:)

What is the difference between a Sailor and a Marine?

The Marine could not pass the ASVAB.;)

One of my best friends is a Marine, so I joke with him about it. He is a reservist at Miramar. VFA-??? Can not remember the #s, but it is definitely a VFA.

Thanks to all that served, are serving and will serve!

there's a reserve f/a-18 squadron at miramar,can't remember the # tho.

marine -18 squadrons are VMFA,navy are VFA.

V=fixed wing
M=marine
F=fighter
A=attack

Funny you should mention the asvab,I had the highest score I ever saw on paper...plus I went to 2 navy schools,aircraft hydraulic school in millington and F/A-18 framp school in lemoore and I was top student in both.Ratio in both schools was about 5 sailors per marine...

:cool:
