Who has the fastest ET or MPH on a TE44???

Just trying to find the limits of this Turbo? Many claim to have an idea how fast it can go, but ET's and MPH are Fact! Thanks for the info!

How fast do you want to go?

With ported stock heads, I'd guess 121-122 in the the 1/4 is not out of the question. A TE44 can probably run faster than this, but a larger turbo would likely do it easier at this point.

I've personally gone 118 with a TA49 at 23 psi of boost with 100% stock heads and a stock intercooler. I'm hoping for low 120's when I get it back on the road after porting the heads/bigger fuel injectors.

i did 12.2 @ 112 with my stock turbo

now i have a te-44...first run with it i ran a 13.2 @ 106

guess what that means? that means that you can't just slap on a turbo and expect faster times right away...you have to TUNE TUNE TUNE...this turbo is an easy mid 11 to low 11 second turbo if the car is tuned properly...but my car wasn't at the time...i will get in the 11's soon though

Check my sig. I know its got at least a couple more tenths and mph in it too. The motor only had 600 miles on it when I ran it so I didn't want to go over 23 lbs and 20* of timing.

omg nice motor! i wish my engine was that frickin clean and all nice and rebuilt oh well if i ever blow a headgasket or something (knock on wood!) my motor will get totally re-done too...

119.84 mph on an untouched motor and a TE44 using the stock exhaust elbow....24psi

i know a guy (and have ridden in his car) and he said he has done 11.6 w/his te44 on 25 psi, alky, and a different intercooler (not FM) and a bunch of other mods.

7.1 @ 94mph @ 28lbs. and 118 octane, Granted the car has other engine work(heads, .030 over, etc...) that helps alot, but I think thats low 11's in the quarter and it's for sale!

Thanks salvage, i know i wouldnt come close to that without the rearend work, such as air bags, slicks ect... but its good to know that the motor is already there. Although probably some would disagree, and wouldnt think i could do that with what i have now without touching the block.

Jojo,

All you need is a race chip, race gas, right side airbag and 28" slicks and to turn up the boost. Note that 28" tires are key to running 11's with a stock motor. 26" tires need too many RPM's and will take more effort.
