Guessing I have a bearing problem ?
Does anybody know where to get one rebuilt?
I don't know where the noise is from? Sounds
similar to a rubbing tire but that is not the problem.
Can i pull the axles and feel the bearings, are there axle bearins near the diff? Please help. been noisy for 5000 miles

If it only does it when you make turns, especially when backing up, it is probably on the clutches. Change the fluid and add a tube of friction modifier, Ford makes the best IMO and you can get it from any dealer, I also use Kendall which works as well.

There are no bearings near the differential, not for the axles, anyway. Inside the differential, there are bearings for the carrier and the pinion bearings. The axle bearings are out at the wheels. Not too hard to replace. If you don't want to try it, maybe you could get down to Jack Cotton's place in Mass.?

Thanks Guy's
I thought about going to Jacks but figured with time to get it there and back I might just buy a spare rearend, one problem finding one close enough  I will try the fluid today

problems fixed

Brought the car to a local Garage. Was impressed to see some
H Perf. cars onsight . Asked about my noises and left it one day.
I got a call around ten AM told needed rebuild ( bearings ). that would cost around $ 500.00 to complete. Gave the go ahead.
4:00 pm garage calls , car complete. They replaced pinion seal, crush collar, inner pinion bearing, outer pinion bearing, carrier bearings five hundred even. I am happy as a pig ! Anybody needs differential work in N.H. pm me and I will forward the location.
