Hi All,

I was watching “Inside Drag Racing” on ESPN and in the Flowmasters commercial there is a GN doing a burnout. I had it taped so watched it in slow motion. Only name I could see among the window stickers was “Mickey Tompson”, I didn’t see any other name. Car looks to be an 86 (chrome grill). Car looks like it has a 4” hood on it.

Anyone know who’s car?

Art, I've also seen the Flowmaster commercial. The car looks sweet. Not to pull a highjack job on your thread but I've also wondered who owns the white T-type that's boiling its tires in the K&N commercial. :)

No problem! I've never seen that commercial. I think I need to start paying more attention to the K&N commercials.

Anyone know who's cars these are?

I watched the Flowmasters commercial again really close. It would appear that the car is Mickey Thompson's car. Don't know if he owned a GN, hell, I didn't even know he was still alive.... J

I'm pretty sure its Rick Elams car, but I could be wrong. Its got GNX flares, just like his car in GM high tech.

Art,

I'm not sure who the car belongs to but I doubt it is Mickey Thompson. Unfortunately Mickey has been dead for a number of years now. He was murdered along with his wife outside their home here in southern Cal. Very sad situation. :( If I remember the details right a couple guys on bicycles rode by, pulled out a pair of subguns and killed Mickey and his wife in cold blood. Last I heard the killer was never captured, although there was a guy that had some business dealings with Mickey that the police have been trying to implicate for years but never seemed to have quite enough evidence.

The mystery of the Flowmaster commercial car continues....... :)

I can find out

Flowmaster is down the street from me. I can inquire and will....

Thanks Bruce

there was something about that white T on here once, i think the guy who owns it is a board member...

actually i just did a search and it another thread said it was Ricks car. Thread

that commercial is a little misleading. if a k&n filter gave as much power as a $3000 turbo i think we would all be driving 1500+ hp cars. and what turbos cost $3000? i cant say ive ever seen one.

I beleive they said "adding a turbo", which would cost at least $3000, probably more. I don't think they meant replacing a turbo would cost $3000.

Hey Guys,

The car in the K&N Commercial is mine, not sure about the flowmaster commercial, I have never seen it.

Thanks!

White T,

How did you land that?? That's way cool, good for you. Get any $$$$ for it? Life time filters? Oh wait they already have that. LOL

Way cool;)

I was asked to do it by the advertising firm that handles K&N's account, they work with us also (Baer Brakes) and saw the car and liked it. There was no money involved, just part of a day of burnouts! :) They only used a small clip of what was actually done, I can easily say though if it was a burn out contest I would have won! :)

Thanks!

Thats really cool! Did they at least spring for a new set of tires? :D

That car is mine. That was filmed at The NMCA World Finals in Memphis 1996. Flowmaster was the sponser . I was running a flowmaster sticker for the contingent money but running a Dynomax muffler. The white mustang is Nitrous Pete. I wish I had a dollar for each time that was run.
