I think it'd be...

Lee Thompson.........11.42@114
Marka Gallina...........11.62@113.44
Drew Carlton...........11.88?@??
nocooler and cool84's 12 second runs?

I'm not completely sure about drew, but i know its a high 11..

..and then me with my 13.6.. for now.

lee thompson has run 11.2x's @ 122.

chris ran low 12's in vegas with mph for mid-low 11's(how's that posi coming chris?;) )that was at 4000'+ air density too.

hell,i ran 13.22/102 in vegas with 1.89 60'.that was with street timing and ~22 psi.

I wondered when you were going to see that.!!!!!!!

Sorry folks Jeremy spent his summer working on my POS.

13.00 102.....what a pisser. 12's have been flirting with this car for at least a year.

This year it will go 12's or spit out parts trying.

Twins probably had the fastest stock intake - stock headed hot-air around.....and I don't have time for ya to be breaking parts, but then again I do need some glasses

i might be wrong but i think with stock turbo, stock injectors and stock chip oh yea stock fuel pump i got the reacord at 13:0's at 104.9 mph best.

freshened motor with mild bowl work on heads and gasket match with small small speedpro cam

feel free to correct me if im not.

alright 13.0 guys..

i got the probs sorted out i think

think i can beat ya?

no, im not going to gain 5mph from a downpipe and 2psi (20, from 18).. but i bet i can touch a 12...

well see.

Lee went 11.15 @121.7 at Bristol with a production block, stock intake,009 injs, and shootin' alky in front of the TB

Engine Swap?

I was thinking about rebuilding the 85 engine with the following: parts off my 87 GN (TE-51 turbo, ported heads, 2 1/2" catback & extra computer), SS kit (intake & intercooler), ATR kit (exhaust), a set of 50 lbs injectors & a good fuel pump. Or just swapping an 86/87 engine in it. What would you do?

okay I guess I would be on the list thanks for the over site no cooler and twins , but before that men in black was doing 13.20 pre intercooler from turbo motion and his was mostly stock set up. With intercooler he broke into the 12's and realized he was missing a bolt in the turbo and will most likely do low 12's this next season with turbo motion intercooler. My motor is fresh and I have every intention of getting into the 11's this season. But with major transmission slipping and not using the converter I think 12.81 is okay

if I had a posi and could get a 60' better than 2.3, the combo listed below would be LOW 11's/High 10's at sea level. With the posi, new turbo, better fuel management, some heads, etc, I'm shooting for mid 10's :)

Lee has the fastest so far.... this year should be a good year for our "hot-air slugs" :D

KK gets no respect!

Sing with me R-E-S-P-E-C-T.....find out what that......

Sorry Jamie. :o

Blame Nocooler....I wasn't even gonna consider that my car was in the top 50. (Yeah right  ).

BTW NoCooler's and mine haven't seen a trailer ( well except when my spider gears broke at the track, flat bed time), and I did drive mine to the Nats. in KY and OH. Of course I was to chicken **** to run there 'cuz I had to drive the sucker home.

I think Drews is a daily driver....that makes a huge diff to me...that guys got nads to beat his only car into the 11's.

Reds Hot Air is some kind of Buick master...we should do a Star Wars type movie with him showing all the novices how to tune. Stock fuel pump...are you kidding me. I have thousands (way to much to add up) in parts to go 13.00 at 102.

Ttype 85's has some kinda crazy MPH...I don't know what the hell you guys are doing out there to go so fast but you let me know if you'll be at the nats. this year and I'll dolly the GN down behind the Caprice and buy you a case of your favorite beer to make mine go low 12's.

MIB and Nocooler seem to be in the same boat...fast TM cars with ****ty luck.

have trailer will travel, if you had one you'd use it. Out of all the times we went to the track I usually drove home since someone else was on the trailer. I'd rather be safe then sorry. I think Men in Black will be going fast with class, he has found his demons and I think it will be just a matter of time before he goes to the track to get the numbers. And I have to agree with the previous post it's time some of us other hot air slugs give Lee a run for his money. But that car sure is nice And so is Lee, he is one of the major reasons I have the combo I do. Can't wait until the season starts, when I trailer my car an hour and half one way to go racing. or not, depends if Karl wants to play then I drive mine just to prove I can. :D

thousands to go 13.00@102? whaat man?

oh well.. i think the DP should be worth a few mph.. so it seems 12s shouldnt be out of reach.

let me play with your minds

my car went faster with 180 degree thermostat than it did with a 160 but that was with stock chip

i didnt upgrade fuel system because i couldnt get the 02's down on the car as it was i tried all kinds of stuff and couldnt get o2's down

i barrowed a chip from Lee thompson just to see what happened by getting the stock chip out the car well after trying all kinds of things i couldnt get the car to run what it did on the stock chip.

bet thats got ya scratching your head now it sure did for me i just knew i could shoot it in the 12's wit a chip but nope went down to 13:30's and 40's and lost about 2 mph.

btw: iplan to be at bowling green again this year and hope to meet lots of you guys there.

i went last year but was kinda new here and the only one on here that i knew of when i seen them was Lee so i did speek to him breifly and i stopped my Mike mccoy's tent but i think i was talking to one of his friends that was watching things while he walked away i know he had a 350x honda 3 wheeler

.....I read in one of the posts above that Lee Thompson was spraying Alky infront of the TB.........is this a good way to spray alky?...or is it better to tap into the O-ring adapter between the Turbo and the TB?.......

Or is it ok for alky to run thru the turbo?

hey chris, you put any thought into the 16 pos maxeffort?it would save you a bunch of time/money/effort and i bet you'd be just as fast as a dfi.

alky

Yes, I/m spraying alky in front of the throttle body. According to my turbo man, as long as you get it to atomize, it won/t hurt ( fingers crossed) I will be keeping an eye on my compressor wheel. I/m also spraying alky in the intake just below the cone adapter. Using a 2 stage system, the one in front of the turbo ( .020 orfice ) comes on at 4-5 psi, the one below the turbo (.024 ) comes on at 15-16 psi. That makes .044 orfice total. Previously with a .044 after the turbo the car would stumble until the RPM/s and power came up.
I/m using 6 oz. per 1/4 mile. According to people in the know, I should be using more alky. This coming season I will be playing with larger orfices.
Just got a new turbo from John Craig. It is an 87 unit with an adapter welded to the intake side so it will fit my stock type intake, using only 1 o-ring. It has a 66 compressor wheel and a huge exhaust wheel with a Precision 85 exhaust housing (Q-trim wheel). I/m hoping I can run more than 22 psi with this turbo. I have run 25-27 psi but with no gain.
Then again, it may not pull a fat girl out of a donut shop.

Lee...thanks for the reply!.....

Thats SOME CRAZY stuff!!!

I think that if I run Alky I will do it from after the turbo.....I don't wanna mess with my turbo....I already had one blow on me, and I don't want it happening again (ugh...the noise is horrible!)

Only using 1 O-ring?

Did John weld one part of the adapter to the turbo, and then just leave the other side (O-ring) to seal on the lip in the turbo?

The car should Haul with the larger turbo!
