He had to cut the small end of the adapter off, threw it away, then welded the remaining part of the adapter to the turbo, which leaves the big end for an o-ring down in the intake. Hope that explains it.

yup...that explains it...from what I hear that is required if you choose to go to a larger comp housing.....as far as I know the Stocker and the TA-33 are the only two turbos that can use the stock setup! (2 O-rings)
 
you can use any turbo you want provided it clears the hood.. most guys just get a diesel IC clamp and clamp the turbo to either the intake adapter or the small lip on the intake..
 
My combo when I ran my times was headers, 2.5" DP, homeported intake, spearco intercooler, TA49, 62mm TB, JC 92 octane chip, 009s, and XP Fuel pump. I ran it on 92 octane with a little 100 octane, launched under vacuum, spun, hit 18psi and the boost slowly dropped to 13psi for the last half of the run. There's no doubt the car had an 11sec pass in it on race gas and slicks and no plugged catalytic convertor but with only one pass under it's belt it's not too bad.

For this year I've gutted the intake, homeported heads, TA64, 3" Dp with external gate, 3,000rpm convertor, Ford FM IC, and 4.1 motor. Looking for 11s in pure street trim.

Finally got my motor back from S&S turbo regal and hope to get it together soon. I had no times with the car before the spun rod bearing. I am hoping for mid to low 11's.
 
We'll be looking forward to seeing Lee at Norwalk this year? Lee do you have a roll bar in your car yet? Just wondering. Just received my new intake from turbo motion and it looks great. Can hardly wait to the first test and tune. I wish we could just fast forward through February and March and get to April already. Twins has thrown a lot of money at his car, now he needs to tune tune tune. :D :cool:
