Why does the exhaust on my 1993 chevrolet truck smell like rotten eggs?

Your cat converter is clogged. You probably also need a tuneup as it is probably running rich. Check your plugs, bet they look pretty bad.

I put on a new cat and muffler because the old exhaust was rotten off. The truck was my grandfathers who died 7 yrs ago and it has only been driven 8000 miles since he died. It only has 70000 miles on it now. I put on a new air filter and had all of the fluids changed when I got it. I have not checked the plugs yet.

Also I put flowmasters on it and a new single cat and the truck is still kind of quiet. When I put the flowmasters on it did not make it any louder, then I put the new cat and it got a little bit louder. Are most trucks this year model like that?

Better have it checked out for air/fuel ratio also. Most times that is what will cause a cat to stink and go bad. The rich fuel will cause the cat to be overactive and that is where the smell comes from. Just a preventative measure.
