Hey guys, I need to know why my friends 97 plymouth breeze idles high. I cant figure it out. Could it be an O2 sensor? It doesnt give any dummy lights. It also shifts late from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd. The RPM's at shifts are way too high. Then when you get it home, put it in Park, the thing idles very high. It idels even higher when it's cold. If you could help, I would greatly appreciate it. She doesnt have much money so I'd like to fix it for her if I could. Thanks guys!!! -------Jeremy

Sounds like vacuum leak. I used to spray the top of motor down with carb cleaner and when it stumbled, that would be the spot. Only thing I can think of right now.

On some cars, a malfunctioning or maladjusted IAC valve will cause a high idle....It did on my Ranger pickup. :)

OK, I will check both of those. Thanks for the info. I would like to save her some $$$.
