I now have a White TR and it's just like a woman.
It's fussy, expensive to keep, high maitanence, wants all of my attention, needs me to listen to it all the time, cleans up real good when we go out and when it takes me for a ride, I usually come back satisfied.......
Who needs a woman?![]()

daves87gn said:well i guess im one of the few lucky ones,
the first time i talked to my wife then girl friend on the phone, somewhere along the conversation came up that my top two cars i wanted to own one day, were a grand national and a 69 camaro. a few months later i drove her by a neighbor that had one 2 blocks away to show her a grand national, she looked at the car and said your mean "The black regal?" I explained to her what a GN was and she wasnt buying it she said "all the gangsters at my high school drove or wanted a regal, i dont like them."a few months pass and on our way to the store we drove past the street the GN lives on and it was park on the street so drove by and see a for sale sign on the window, park got down and had a long talk with the original owner of the car and he shows me all the documentation he had for the car. every thing from window sticker to sale receipt dealer brochures with the boxes check off on the item he wanted when he order the car, everything related to the car was there and had a small piece of paper with the year and a paper clip attach to all the receipts for that year.
So after we bored the gf to death lol, he tells me $6500 and hands me the keys which still had the dealer key chain from down the street where he bought it at, i ask if the price is negotiable to which he replies we'll talk when you get back, i try to hand him my ID to which he replies " i know where you live, i might not be here when you get back i got to run some errands so take your time have it checked out and if im not back leave the keys in the mail box."
off we go, 114K miles bone stock 87 GN and after the car was warmed up i matted the pedal and just lit up the the stock size tires and from the passenger side i hear "OH MY GOD" make a turn and just completely light then up again and tell her to look at the cloud of smoke in the rear, "holy sh!t is that from the tires?" yup " whats done to the motor?" stock V6 " no way is it a V6" yup lol now she can't take the smile off her face. we get the car check out by at a friends shop checks out good. two hours laterwe take the GN home and talk to the owner, ask whats the least he take "$6500 im firm on the price" tell him i need a few days to check finances as i was in escrow buying a house, tell him why now car has been sitting in your drive way for close to 7 year with out moving in inch, that i would go out of my way when i would ride my bike home from HS just to see the car.
well a few days later the GF asks what are you gonna do about the car, i tell her it its wouldnt be smart to buy it right know, hopefully its still around in a few months, she said lets go talk to the owner maybe you can talk him down a little to were you can afford it so off we go, after a few minutes it was obvious he wasnt gonna break, so she asks him if he would take a checkhe said sure, she looks at me and says you can pay me later, hands me the keys and says but im keeping this as she puts the pink slip in her purse.
sorry for the long story but well guess i fell in love twice that week, and ended up getting engaged 3 months later
and although all this happened close to 10 years ago still remember it like it was yesterday.
and then there is always this
