I just picked up a AEM EUGO wideband, and was going to install it in the downpipe. But i was thinking, is it possible to replace the factory O2 sensor with the wideband, if there is a wire i can tap off of from the wideband? Or can the car run with no factory O2 sensor.

If not, ill just install it in the downpipe.

Thanks
Rob

oh shoot i posted in the wrong section.

can some one please move it as appropriate..

sorry

From what I learned, the WB can replace the factory O2, BUT
1. Not in the same location as the factory O2
2. Facory O2 can not replace WB
3. In stock form, the ECM can NOT operate without the factory O2.

ok ill bite too, because I thought you were supposed to replace the factory O2 with the wideband, but now that I think about it in not sure.

If your unit has a narrow band output, you can tap that into the purple wire instead of reading from the stock sensor...I did that with my LM-1, didnt seem to make a noticeable difference. If you have a TT chip, I dont think you need the stock o2 sensor either...could be wrong :D and I wouldnt mount it in the stock location either....downpipe is the spot! farther down the better from what I've learned
