widest tire stock rim?

what is the widest tire i can put on a stock 87 rim? im i wanted to get some 275-50's wat ya tink?

I have DR's 275/50/15 on stock rims. I had to put a 1/4" spacer so it wouldn't rub the frame. No issues now.

I run 275/50r15 MT DRs on the stock Gn wheels on my 86' does not rub but verry close. I've taken corners sharp with them and they don't rub but that will vary from car to car so you may have to run spacers as stated above. They hook GREAT by the way!. Jon Hanson
