I just got a new hood liner from Chuck at BG and at it's allready burning a little around the turbo portion, drove it like 10 miles/ I don't want to burn a hloe in this and don't have a stock cover on hand so wondering if it will fit with a 63 housing cut for THDP?

Sorry for the / my periods not working

It'll fit the turbo just fine.....it will need trimming to clear the THDP, however

Woody do you think that will prevent further burning, thanks for the help/ Ok who's got a heat shield for sale:)

you sure your hood pad is tight? .....I haven't run a heat shield for a couple of years and no damage

It's tight but it's not formed like the stock one/ I got it from IMM at the nats and I don't think it's made from the same material as the stock one/ Is the stock one made from some heat resistant material? I've been running the turbo for a while with the stock one and it didn't burn/ Only reason I changed it was I saw a hole appearing after time and took the liner off and found a nice cozy bed made of feathers and stuffing and some mouse turds:eek:

the factory hood pads are still available from GM......at least they were a few months ago

If your hood liner is burning i would check it that is not drooping.I ve had mine for over a year and ran it at 1st with no shield. No burning problems.

I have the same hood liner and it does not burn with the heat shield on. And yes, the heat shield will fit.

Steve do you or anyone run both poly motor mounts on your car?/ I have them and it seems that the engine is a little higher

ON the DS, only...actually I have two cars with the same hood liner and poly mounts on the ds.
