Finally just went back to pouring liquid TE clnr into the throat of the truck's TBI.

Man, how did you do that? I tried that in my van a couple of days ago an got it all over the place. Its hard to pour just a little without it running down the side of the can. I think I might give the aerosol a try. Just the way the motor sits in that thing, you really dont have much room on top of the TBI to get it in there.
:D

Of course, I might have to warn the Fire Dept down the street before I do. ;)

when i poured in the liquid top engine cleaner i transferred it from the can to a cup that was easier to pour from that had a spout on it. made it much easier to pour.

Thanks for the tip. I'll hafta try that.
I tried a funnel, and got nowhere with that either. Darn TBI sits right underneath the dash below the radio. But, cap and rotor changes are a breeze since youre nearly sitting on them. :D

Oops, forgot to mention I used a small plastic funnel! Since my Chevy's TBI is sort-of like a 2 barrel carb, I'll pour about 1/2 of the Cleaner into one throat, and the remaining cleaner in the other throat, using the funnel ...

Recently GM has switched to packaging the liquid cleaner in a can with a much smaller screw-on spout (similar to brake fluid can), that also makes it easier to control the pouring.

Top Engine Cleaner

Went to the the local chevy dealer i got two cans, they were $5.30 a can, good price :D. I will use the cleaner when i get closer to doing an oil change.

I could tell a few stories about why top engine cleaner and brake fluid being in a similar can is a BAD thing, but i wont...

(think about what top engine cleaner would do to brake seals...
