I am going to the track for the first time on Saturday. I'v dumped tons of money (by a college student's standards) into this car with the main idea being GO REALLY FAST! With all the mods in my sig, running 18# of boost and a pretty cool evening 60-68 degrees, and somewhat sticky street tires....would it be probable that I could run 12.8-12.9s or am I stuck in the 13's until the alcohol flows and ET Streets grace my rear end?

I know you aren't supposed to go out with a number set on your mind, because then you will be unhappy, but all this money, time, and hard work should produce something....right

No reason why you shouldn't be solidly in the 12's. What are you using for rear tires? That may be what holds you back.

Buy some race gas and turn up the wick.

I ran high 11's with a TE-44, many have gone much faster.

Traction will probably be your biggest problem.

Make sure you watch your scan tool/boost level so you don't break at the track.

at 18 lbs boost and street tires, you will be doing well to get out of the 14's

these cars do not go fast at stock or near stock boost levels and no traction

the second place you should spend your money (after fuel upgrades) is traction....that means, at the very least, drag radials and preferably something like an ET Street.....it is pointless to buy an upgraded turbo, for example, if you cannot get the power down

don't spend another nickle on anything else until you can get some tires! (and turn the boost up with some race gas.....)

good luck and have fun:)

Like everyone said, you ain't goin' nowhere on them tires. The mph will tell you a little though, even if your ET sucks. Where are you guys going? We are all heading to Charleston friday night to race, you should join us. If you're interested, I got some tires I can sell you for $40, they ain't slicks but a bunch of guys down here use them and cut 1.7 or so short times.
